The Alphabet in Historical Fiction

hosted @ Historical Tapestry

Last week i posted a Teaser Tuesday for this book,I thought I'd offer a little more info on Sir Robert Peel.
"Peel, whilst Home Secretary, helped create the modern concept of the police force, leading to officers being known as "bobbies" (in England) and "Peelers" (in Ireland) to this day". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Peel
"Early in his political career Peel was appointed Chief Secretary for Ireland and , under an administration which refused calls for Catholic emancipation, introduced the Irish constabulary to maintain civil order." from "Bloomers,Biros & Wellington Boots" by Andrew Scholl.
